Almond and date milkshake…

So recently I’ve been noticing that there is a growing craze around health foods which are vegan or vegetarian, which is great!

I love that people are being creative and mindful of what they are eating so I have been experimenting with a recipe (date milk) that I found via a few websites (which was simply blend dates with lots of water and ice) and trying different flavour combinations and this one is, so far, my favourite!


All you will need is:

  • 12 medjool dates
  • a handful (no precise measurements here!) of raw almonds
  • 4 cups of water
  • a few drops of vanilla essence
  • two teaspoons of cinnamon
  • and a dash of milk (whether that be almond, oat, or soy)

To make it:

Blend the almonds at a high speed until they are a reasonably fine powder (similar to almond meal).

Add the dates and the 4 cups of water and blend until it forms a frothy mixture and the dates have been blended thoroughly.

Add the cinnamon, vanilla essence, and milk and blend once again.

Then, if you desire, sieve the milkshake to ensure all lumps are removed! And that’s it! Chuck a few ice cubes in and you’re good to go!
