Protein balls…

My favourite pre or after workout fuel. It’s delicious. It’s filling. And it’s just awesomeness in a little ball.

You wanna know how to make one?

You’ll need:

  • 1/2 a cup of pitless dates
  • 1/2 a cup of shredded coconut
  • 1/3 a cup of cacao powder
  • 1/3 a cup of sliced almonds
  • 1/3 a cup of coconut oil
  • 1/3 a cup of sultanas and/or goji berries
  • 1/4 a cup of your chosen protein powder

Put the dates in a bowl of boiling water until they’re soft. Drain them and add them to a food processor.

Add all the other ingredients and blend until just combined. Adjust by adding more coconut if it’s too ‘wet’ or  more coconut oil if it’s too dry.

Now you need to roll this mixture into balls. Sometimes depending on the batch, I like to place the mixture in the freezer first to make it easier to roll. If you think you don’t need to, go right ahead and start rolling the mixture into small golf ball sized balls.

And Voila! Store them in the fridge or freezer and try (if you can) to stick to one a day. No more!
